SAT Math Prep Reviews

Highly Recommend!

Posted by Audrey Pan on 08/18/2025

This class was a great motivation to work a whole bunch of math problems in a short amount of time, which I wouldn't have done on my own, giving me the practice that I needed. The fact that the class was arranged by topics made it a very organized review of math concepts. The logical and thorough progression will cover any gaps in math knowledge. Knowing how to approach math problems with a SAT mindset -- instead of a math class mindset -- helped me gain confidence when looking for shortcuts. Seeing the questions that other students submitted and Mr. Alons' responses was very helpful.  Mr. Alons was very accessible, friendly, and encouraging. The class required a commitment of time and effort, but gaining new test-taking skills was well worth it.  I highly recommend this class!

    Take this before the SAT!

This class is amazing! The questions are hard which is good for preparing at the real SAT level. Mr. Alons was supportive and always answered all of my questions (even if I asked a million a day) and did the same for other students. The class was well-organized and the homework and resources were easy to find. Harder topics generally had more questions which was good for practice. I love how the class is graded based on completion because it takes the pressure of getting good grades away and helps you focus on practicing instead for the SAT.

How many hours of work per day or per week did you generally put into this class?

I put an average of 2 hours per day of work in this class. This is a rigorous course indeed, so it takes a lot of work, but it's worth it.

Did this class enhance your interest in the subject?

Honestly, I don't know what to say about this because I already love math in general. I definitely learned quite a few new things in this class so I guess you could say it really enhanced my knowledge.

Did you find your communications with other students to be interesting or valuable?

Absolutely! The class had a discussion board and social board for communicating with other students. We would post question on the discussion board and Mr. Alons would answer most of the questions, but I loved the student responses I've received. Everyone helped each other if they knew something another student didn't. I was also happy to help other students who needed it.

What sort of student would do well in this class? Would you recommend this class to other students (if they are willing to work hard!)?

A student who has completed geometry and algebra 2 with a good grade would do better in this class than a student who hasn't, but that's not the most important part. I personally think discipline, consistency, hard work, and curiosity is really important to this class. In this class, you should always reach out to help when you need it and push through the material even if it's hard instead of cheating. If the student can do this, then I would 100% recommend this class to them.
